Once your dog completes their training with us, the work isn’t over. Dogs thrive with structure and repetition, so it’s important to keep practicing at home. Set aside a few minutes each day to work on basic commands that your trainer has given you; like sit, stay, heel, and place. Practice in different areas of your home and outside, just like we do in training. This helps your dog understand that obedience doesn’t just apply in one place.
Stay consistent
Maintaining trained dog behaviors comes down to consistency. That means using the same words, the same tone of voice, and the same expectations every time you interact with your dog. It also means not letting things slide just because you’re tired or in a rush. The more consistent you are, the more reliable your dog will be.
Will the training transfer to you?
One of the most common questions we get is, “Will the training transfer to me?” The short answer is yes, but it does take effort on your part. Our program is designed to prepare your dog to listen to you, but you’ll need to follow through.
